The name comes from the word organic in Korean, reflecting the restaurants deep commitment towards seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and a gluten free menu.


Yu Gi Nong is able to place itself at the center of Portland's diverse food landscape, with their specialization in gluten free Korean food. The restaurant blends traditional Korean flavors while also being mindful of dietary restrictions of customers which allows them to appeal to both Korean food enthusiasts and diners that are more health conscious. The restaurant's intimate atmosphere is also able to reinforce the community oriented roots and the appeal beyond just the meal to a cultural experience.

Yu Gi Nong's menu is crafted with their business goals in mind with an emphasis on quality over quantity. Some of their signature dishes include vegetarian bibimbap, glass noodles (Jab Chae), and various protein-centric entrees such as Gochu-Jang Chicken and Gahn-Jang Beef. The pricing for these items also reflect the premium ingredients that were used in the preparation with prices generally ranging from $12 to $29. Small started like the Edamame and Cheese Corn are priced affordably with main entrees sitting at around $20 to $28.


Customer Feedback


Yu Gi Nong has an extremely strong rating across multiple platforms including a 5 star rating on UberEats, 4.9 stars on google reviews and etc. Their customers frequently praise the restaurant for its authentic flavors, generous portions, and the high quality of its gluten-free offerings. Many reviews highlight the attentive and friendly service, as well as the cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

This website doesn't have to be anything complex just a simple webpage that has links to online reservations, menu and about the restaurant. This will allow customers to have a touchpoint to connect with the restaurant.

Situated in the St. Johns neighborhood, Yu Gi Nong benefits from a growing local business community and increasing foot traffic. This area offers a less saturated market compared to downtown Portland but attracts an engaged and supportive neighborhood clientele.

Its location in a visible, accessible spot formerly occupied by other eateries helps draw both curious newcomers and repeat customers.
